INTERVIEW:
GENERAL
One of the most important factors for getting
into medical school is your interview. If you do
well on your interview, you do improve your
chances of being amongst the lucky applicants who
are offered a position at the school. If you do
poorly, regardless of you 4.0 GPA, average of 15
on your MCAT scores, and 5,000,000 hours of
volunteer work and helping the needy, you can
kiss that medical school goodbye.
Don't despair. Like everything else in life,
you can improve your performance at the interview
by preparing for it. Prepare, prepare and prepare
some more.
You probably studied 25 hours for one organic
chemistry test which was 25% of your final grade
in that class. Organic chemistry was only one of
30 classes that you took in undergrad. The grade
you got on that test will probably mean nothing
compared to the impression you leave on the
interviewing staff. You should spend many hours
(preferably more than you spent for the chemistry
test) preparing for this final hurdle of getting
into medical school.
The purpose of this section of my WebSite is
to describe how I prepared for my interviews
(please check my disclaimer).
Please note that there are many books out there
that can help you in this regard. I highly
recommend that you read as many of them as you
can.
